Areas of Interest

Donna is interested in multiculturalism and how this affects childrens language development and is a member of the Multicultural Interest Group concerning communication difficulties.  In conjunction with other university staff she has presented conference papers on the assessment of children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Recent Projects

In February 2008 Donna traveled to India to supervise University of Sydney students working with children with cerebral palsy at the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy.
As part of their placement the students developed strategies to promote the childrens feeding, interaction and use of sign.  Donna worked with the students to develop AAC resources such as communication boards, books and teaching aids for the children.
