Brain Damage & Communication Problems
Brain damage such as stroke or head injury can cause problems
- with speech production (for example slow, slurred, or indistinct)
- speech and language understanding
- reading and writing
These problems can cause concern, distress, and social difficulties for people with brain damage and for their relatives.
The clinical service is based at the Communication Disorders Treatment and Research Clinic of the University and welcomes enquiries from anyone with a communication problem caused by brain damage or from their relatives, friends and professionals working with them. Assessments and treatment can be arranged.
