Referrals
Referrals can be made by:
- the client
- the client's family
- schools
- employers
- community health centres
- counsellors
- doctors
- other health or community workers
To make a referral please contact the Intake Officer: (02) 9351 9764, on Mondays between 8am and 1pm.
Schedule of Fees
The CDTRC is a non-profit clinic which is funded by income from clinic fees and supplemented by the University of Sydney. These fees support student education in speech pathology, research and effective treatment of communication disorders.
All fees are to be paid at the time of the appointment. Accounts will not be given.
The full fee will be charged if you fail to attend an appointment and do not notify the clinic beforehand. Therapy may be discontinued if you miss more than 3 sessions in a semester (13 weeks).
We currently accept payment by cash, credit card, cheque or money order only - no EFTPOS facilities are available. Cheques and money orders should be made payable to: The University of Sydney.
- Assessment (3 sessions and a written report and includes a hearing assessment if required): Price on application
- School or Home visit (if required as an additional part of the assessment): Price on application
- Review Assessment: Price on application
- Hearing Assessment only: Price on application
- Individual Therapy Session: Price on application
- Group Therapy Session: Price on application
Costings for Special Clinical Programs are available on request.
Medicare Refunds
Refunds are only covered under the Allied Health and Dental Care Initiative and you can only claim a maximum 5 therapy sessions. To be eligible for a refund you must meet strict crtieria under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Program.
EPC Program Referral Form to be completed by the referring GP.
Private Health Funds
Some private health funds will refund a percentage of the assessment and therapy charge. Please check with your fund before your first appointment.
If your fund does cover part of the cost - let the Clinic Administrator know which fund you belong to and ask her to put the provider number on your invoice/receipt. Please note that not all Speech Pathologists, working in the CDTRC, have a provider number with every private health fund.
