Dr Rose has teaching responsibilities in clinical ophthalmology, paediatric ophthalmology, research development and supervises individual Honours and Masters by coursework research projects

Research areas

As a  researcher Dr Rose works primarily in the area of ophthalmic epidemiology, with particular research interests in the areas of

· vision screening, prevention of eye disease
· evidence-based orthoptic and ophthalmic practice
· environmental risk factors for the development of myopia and other refractive errors.

Dr Rose is actively involved in the Faculty's Disability and Community Research Group, and works collaboratively with the ophthalmic epidemiology group at the Centre for Vision Research, Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney and with colleagues at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Vision, Australian National University.
