Welcome from the Head of Discipline

Welcome to the  Discipline of Medical Radiation Sciences.

The medical radiation sciences cover several related disciplines that use advanced medical technology for diagnosing and treating disease. The multi-disciplinary nature of our field is reflected in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses we offer, which are designed to prepare diagnostic radiographers, nuclear medicine technologists, radiation therapists and sonographers for professional practice. Our graduates are highly regarded, both locally in Australia and internationally.

Our research covers a wide range of topics, from the development of imaging technology, through the biological and clinical applications of radiation detection and treatment, to the psycho-social aspects of professional practice in the field. I invite you to explore the pages devoted to the research activities of our students and the initiatives in molecular imaging, mammography and radiation therapy led by senior researchers in the School.

We are committed to producing excellent practitioners and researchers with life-long learning skills that will enable them to contribute to advancement of the field and improvements in the quality of care of patients.

Thank you for visiting our web site. I hope you find it informative and stimulating.
