We also offer professional preparation for a number of allied health professions exclusively at the postgraduate level. If you are interested in a career in orthoptics, rehabilitation counselling, nuclear medicine or radiation therapy we recommend that you apply for the Bachelor of Health Sciences and use the GEM Guarantee to progress to the two-year master’s course to gain a ‘right of practice’ in these professions. You can also use the Bachelor of Applied Science (MRS) Diagnostic Radiography to gain entry into nuclear medicine or radiation therapy.
Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHS) students commencing in 2009 and onwards are offered a guaranteed place in the graduate entry master’s (GEM) programs upon gaining a minimum credit grade average (WAM 65+) in the BHS. Study in prescribed majors or particular units is a prerequisite for entry into some programs. Refer to the Faculty Handbook for further information.
There are a number of alternative entry schemes including rural entry, flexible entry and the cadigal program that are available to prospective undergraduate students wishing to study at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Information on the costs associated with studying at the University of Sydney can be found on the University’s undergraduate student website.

The University and the Faculty of Health Sciences also offer a number of scholarship opportunities and study prizes to assist students in pursuing their studies.
Bridging courses are available for students who haven't met assumed knowledge requirements in their HSC subjects.
