The Specialised Major in Occupational Therapy
The Specialised Major in Occupational Therapy is a major within the Master of Health Sciences
The programs in occupational therapy are designed to provide structured and specific professional development for practitioners. The courses extend occupational therapists’ skills and professional capabilities and develop leadership qualities through advanced study and reflective practice.
The master’s program is available in four specialisations:
Mode of offer
Local and international students
Full-time (1 year) / Part-time (2 years)
Distance mode or face-to-face block seminars
Additional Requirements for Specific Major Entry:
- A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent is required to undertake the Generalist, Gerontology or Paediatrics Occupational Therapy specialisations, and
- A bachelor’s degree in a related area is required for the Environment and Access specialisation.
Graduate Certificate
The graduate certificate is the baseline entry level for the occupational therapy major in the Master of Health Sciences. The graduate certificate aims to extend practitioners knowledge, skills and professional capacity. It is available in the four specialisations of the master’s course. Students who successfully complete the graduate certificate are eligible for full credit for their study and can articulate to the corresponding specialised master’s course.
