What do the Graduate Programs in Developmental Disability offer me?

The programs offer flexible multidisciplinary education for professionals in the rapidly developing field of developmental disabilities. This is a unique initiative of the Centre for Developmental Disability Studies and the College of Health Sciences, University of Sydney. Developed and presented by a team of nationally and internationally recognised researchers and practitioners, the programs will enable you to:

  • Consider issues facing people with a developmental disability, their families and communities, from a scholarly perspective.
  • Challenge your own professional discipline and contribute to multidisciplinary practice which is characterised by respect for individuals with a developmental disability, their families, advocates and communities.
  • Learn together with students from a range of professional disciplines who are keen to advance their knowledge and skills and to provide intellectual leadership in the field.
  • Develop specialist skills underpinned by theory, scholarship and research in the field of developmental disabilities.
  • Gain a postgraduate credential indicating a specialisation in the developmental disability field.
