Research Study - Volunteers who use AAC
PARTICIPANTS REQUIRED
Do you use Augmentative and Alternative Communication?
Have you worked as a volunteer?
Associate Professor Susan Balandin and colleagues are looking for people to participate in a study about the experiences of volunteers who use AAC.
We are looking for people who:
- are 18 years or older
- have a physical disability
- use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
- speak and understand English
- have worked as a volunteer (even for just one hour)
A researcher will interview you on 2 occasions in order to learn about your experiences of working as a volunteer. Each interview will take between 1-2 hours and will be audio recorded. At the completion of the study we will provide you with a written summary of the outcomes and our recommendations for improving opportunities for people who use AAC and who want to work as volunteers.
