About us
The Sensory Impairment team focuses on the detection, prevention and treatment of sensory disability, particularly visual disability, across the life span.
Kathryn Rose is investigating the prevalence of eye disease in Australian children and aims to identify modifiable risk factors to assist prevention of disease, such as the association between outdoor activity and the prevention of myopia.
Elaine Cornell is researching the effects of bone conducted vibration on the vestibular organs of the inner ear, which may lead to an improved diagnostic tool for those suffering from vestibular disorders.
The team also aims to inform evidence-based practice in the treatment of sensory impairments.
