Disability and Community
Disability has a long term impact on individuals and their families. The Disability and Community Research Group looks at how we can best help individuals cope with their disability, lead a normal everyday life and participate in the community. The Group also focuses on the health and well being of care givers, siblings and other family members.
Such a broad area of interest requires a truly multidisciplinary approach. The six teams within the Group are formed from members of a number of disciplines, including anthropologists, occupational therapists, orthoptists, psychiatrists, psychologists, speech pathologists and sociologists.
