Clinics & Services

The following Faculty of Health Sciences Centres offer clinical or other services to the general public.

  • Anxiety Disorders Clinic
    This Clinic in the School of Behavioural and Health Sciences, provides individual and group treatment for people with a range of anxiety problems including worry, specific phobia, social anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
  • Australian Stuttering Research Centre (ASRC)
    Information and publications about ASRC stuttering treatment programs are available on this site. People who stutter or parents of children who stutter who are interested in participating in any ASRC research should contact ASRC.
  • Communication Disorders Treatment & Research Clinic
    The Clinic in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers speech pathology and hearing services to a wide range of clients.
  • Driver Rehabilitation and Fleet Safety Services
    The School of Occupation and Leisure Sciences offers driving assessment and rehabilitation, programs for corporate fleets and training for occupational therapists and driving instructors.
  • National Centre for Classification in Health
    The Centre (NCCH) offers consultancy services in training needs assessments. NCCH staff are also available to undertake assessment of health information services and strategies, and to conduct health information/medical records system assessments.
  • PEDro (Physiotherapy Evidence Database)
    PEDro is an initiative of the Centre for Evidence-Based Physiotherapy (CEBP) to provide quick access to bibliographic details and abstracts of randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in physiotherapy.
  • Rehabilitation Counselling Assessment and Research Clinic
    The RC-ARC provides vocational assessments, vocational counselling, avocational planning, case management strategies, and a variety of workshops to a wide range of people and groups in the community.
  • The Vision Clinic: Vision assessments for drivers with vision defects and Occupational Health & Safety are conducted at the Discipline of Orthoptics. Driver assessments include tests for visual acuity, peripheral vision, colour vision and eye movement function. A report is provided from the test. If appropriate an on-road assessment can be arranged through the Driver Rehabilitation and Fleet Safety Services Centre located in the Faculty. Appointments can be made by ringing 02 9351 9250.
