The Community Stuttering Support Group
The Group
The Community Stuttering Support Group meets one evening a month. The aim of these groups is to provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which adults who have completed a speech pathology treatment program can support each other in their efforts to maintain fluency. Speech pathologists are in attendance to lend a hand.
Generous support from the Freilich Stuttering Support Foundation means that attendance is free of charge. Group activities are generally planned by participants according to need. They may include tasks such as formal practice of particular fluency techniques, discussion of challenging speaking situations, and group problem solving.
Adults who have completed a smooth speech or prolonged speech program conducted by a speech pathologist are warmly invited to come along to a group to see if it meets their needs.
