Faculty Scholarships for Postgraduate Students

The following scholarships are supported by alumni and friends of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The Helga Pettitt FHS Postgraduate Study Award

Purpose: This grant, awarded and administered by the Health Sciences Alumni Association, provides financial assistance to a new or continuing student enrolled in any course of postgraduate study.

Selection Criteria: Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Health Sciences, and not have been a previous recipient of the grant.

Value: The grant is up to a total of $1,500. This will be paid to the recipient as one lump sum payment.

Applications Close: 31 March annually

Dr George Burniston – Cumberland Foundation Fellowship

Purpose: This fellowship is awarded annually for postgraduate study in the health science programs offered at the Cumberland campus of the University of Sydney. The scheme is administered by the Cumberland Foundation.

Selection Criteria: Applicants must hold an undergraduate professional qualification awarded by the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Sydney, or the former Cumberland College of Health Sciences. The successful applicant must have been accepted into a postgraduate program in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Value: The award is a sum of $5,000.
