Before joining the School in 1990, I held a number of clinical positions in adult and aged acute care and rehabilitation. I have published and presented at conferences internationally and nationally, primarily in the area of occupational role performance in later life.
I am currently a full-time PhD student, and I work one day per week at the school. I teach undergraduate students in the area of occupational role development in middle and late adulthood and I manage Occupations and Roles Across the Lifespan 2 for the occupational therapy undergraduate program and Client Groups II for the Leisure and Health Undergraduate program. I am a contributor to some post-graduate distance education units in gerontology offered by the School of Behavioural and Community Health Sciences in the Faculty, and I am a member of the StudyAge team developing online teaching materials for postgraduate gerontology students. I supervise of Honours students.
I received an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship to study perceived control in the context of the occupational role performance of older people with chronic health problems.
I am a contributor to the ongoing development of the Occupational Performance Model (Australia), authored by Chris Chapparo and Judy Ranka.
